India’s U19 World Cup-winning captain was brought on board by the Delhi Capitals during the TATA IPL 2022 auction. The youngster made his mark in the U19 World Cup, creaming a sensational ton in the semifinal against Australia U19 and following the World Cup triumph, continued his good form into his maiden First Class season, creaming two hundreds in his first Ranji Trophy game and followed it up with a double ton in his third First Class match.
In 6 First Class matches, he has amassed 783 runs averaging 87 with 4 tons already beside his name while in 8 T20s, he has amassed 363 runs averaging 72.6. The 20-year-old is yet to play a match in IPL and if Delhi Capitals release him, he may be picked by Punjab Kings(PBKS) for IPL 2023 who would be searching for another opener if Mayank Agarwal is released in IPL 2023 squad.
