His knock helped India to register a mammoth victory of 101 runs against Afghanistan in their last match of the super-4 round in the Asia Cup 2022.

Speaking about the match between India and Afghanistan, then the Afghan skipper Mohammed Nabi won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Indians posted a big total of 212 runs for the loss of only 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Other than this, senior batter KL Rahul also played a fine knock of 62 runs off just 41 balls with six boundaries and two sixes to his name.

Fareed Ahmed was the only Afghan bowler who scalped two wickets. While chasing the target, Afghanistan could score only 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets after playing all 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran was the only batter who managed to play a struggling knock of 64 runs for his team.
