Arsenal join Premier League clubs in ‘Levi Colwill race with ace keen to quit as Chelsea near Koulibaly & Ake transfers’
ARSENAL have reportedly joined the race to sign promising young Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill.
It’s claimed Kalidou Koulibaly’s imminent arrival, plus Nathan Ake and Presenal Kimpembe potentially joining the Blues, has led to Colwill wanting to leave.
The 19-year-old is keen to play regular football after playing a starring role on loan at Huddersfield last season.
And the possibility of three new centre-backs signing for Chelsea has led to him considering an exit.
Arsenal are one of a number of Prem clubs interested in snapping up the England U21 talent, according to the Evening Standard.
But the Gunners cannot offer guaranteed playing time with Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White established as Mikel Arteta’s starting centre-backs.
Elsewhere the likes of Southampton, Leicester, Brighton, Crystal Palace AND Fulham are all claimed to be admirers of Colwill.
However, Juventus’ reported interest in Gabriel could free up Arsenal to make a swoop for the teenager.
There is also uncertainty regarding the future of William Saliba.
The Gunners though are rumoured to be targeting a move for RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol, which may make a deal for Colwill off the cards.

But owner Todd Boehly is said to have held multiple meetings on the topic of Colwill’s future.
Koulibaly is set to be confirmed as a Chelsea player in the coming days after arriving in London today for a medical.
And the Blues remained locked in talks with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain over deals for Ake and Kimpembe respectively.
While defensive reinforcements are needed at Stamford Bridge, the arrival of three new experienced centre-backs could result in Colwill departing to pursue regular first team football.
