Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Gunners still interested in £55m Paqueta, Gabriel Jesus stunning HAT-TRICK, Odegaard CAPTAIN

Good morning Arsenal fans

Mikel Arteta admits he wants more signings despite a Gabriel Jesus hat-trick leading Arsenal’s 6-0 rout of Sevilla.

Striker Jesus’ pre-season form since arriving from Manchester City last month just seems to get better.

But boss Arteta said: “We are still hoping to do something else if the market allows us to do that.

“You have seen some movement in the last few days… We want to get the perfect balance.”

It’s claimed Arsenal’s interest in Lyon’s £55million-rated attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta is serious.

But Gunners’ technical director Edu is said to have baulked at the price tag – as Newcastle and Roma also hover for the Brazilian.

Arteta, though, is certainly happy with the way playmaker and new skipper Martin Odegaard is feeding Jesus.

He said: “Martin makes Gabby better and he needs that threat in front of him because he’s someone who can play the final pass at any moment, whether he’s in closed or open spaces.”

There’s been speculation the Gunners would consider a move for Chelsea’s unsettled frontman Timo Werner.

And finally, Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti is poised for talks with Olympiacos, despite recent links to Arsenal.
