Arsenal young striker Nikolaj Moller re-joins Dutch minnows FC Den Bosch on season-long loan transfer

ARSENAL starlet Nikolaj Moller has returned to Dutch outfit FC Den Bosch on loan after his spell last season.

The 19-year-old striker spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign with the second division side.

He proved to be a key player for Jack de Gier’s men as he helped the Blue White Dragons finish mid-table.

In total he featured in 11 Ereste Divisie matches – chipping in with two goals and a solitary assist.

And Arsenal have decided to send the Sweden youth international back on loan to the club to continue his development.

A statement from the Gunners read: “We wish Nikolaj all the best at FC Den Bosch and look forward to seeing his development in the upcoming season.”

Confirming the transfer, Den Bosch said: “FC Den Bosch has reached an agreement with Arsenal FC about the rental of Nikolaj Moller.

“The Swedish striker has already played in De Vliert for the past six months and will remain active for FC Den Bosch next season.”

Den Bosch’s technical director Jan Gosgens has expressed his delight at securing the services of the towering centre-forward for a second time.

He remarked: “Nikolaj has shown that he has a lot of potential.

“Last season he showed beautiful things at times.

“Because he has been able to get used to it for six months, I expect more from him.

“I am very happy that we were able to keep Nikolaj with us for longer.”

Moller isn’t the only player to depart Arsenal’s academy after centre-back Dan Ballard joined Sunderland on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with the newly-promoted Championship side, with the option of an extra year.

Ballard, who failed to make a senior appearance for Arsenal, starred on loan at Millwall last term where he made 33 appearances.

He was set to join Burnley after completing a medical – but failed to agree terms with the Clarets.
