Australia Tour Of India 2022- IND vs AUS Match Preview, 3rd T20I. After a six-wicket win in the second T20I played at Nagpur, India is set to play the series decider against Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The third T20I is scheduled to play on 25th September from 7:00 pm. India have never lost the third game of any T20I series played against Australia.

The second T20I at Nagpur was reduced to 8 overs each after wet patches in the outfield delayed the start. Batting first, Australia put 90 runs on the board after Matthew Wade ensured a strong finish. A calculated start from Indian openers followed by a classy finish by specialist Dinesh Karthik saw India taking the game with 6 wickets and 4 balls in the hand.

Australia’s fifth loss in six international games played at Nagpur means the third game at Hyderabad will be a final. Australia is yet to lose a T20I series on Indian soil since 2007. India matched the record of Pakistan by winning 22 T20I in one calendar year. They haven’t lost the last 10 T20I series played at home. India won the second T20I by 6 wickets to level the series 1-1 as Rohit Sharma played a captain’s knock of 46 runs while chasing the target 0f 91.

In the second game, skipper Rohit Sharma scored 46 runs in just 20 deliveries with help of 4 fours and as many sixes. His partner KL Rahul scored 10 runs while Virat Kohli scored 11 runs. Both batters were bowled by spinner Adam Zampa.

Suryakumar Yadav got out on the very first ball -lbw to Adam Zampa in the second T20I game after scoring 46 runs off 25 balls in the first T20I game. India’s leading scorer in the Asia Cup 2022, Virat Kohli is yet to fire in this series scoring 2 and 11. KL Rahul scored 55 in the 1st T20I but managed only 10 in the rain-curtailed T20I. Hardik Pandya who scored 71 in the 1st T20I, managed only 9 runs in the 2nd T20I.

India played 8 batters after the game was reduced to 8 overs. This might change at Hyderabad with a 20-over game expected. There is a big tussle over choosing between Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant. But Dinesh Karthik’s 10 runs off 2 balls to finish the game shows India’s strategy of playing him as a specialist finisher over Rishabh Pant.

Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback bolstered the Indian pace attack in the second game. Jasprit Bumrah took the wicket off Aaron Finch with a classy yorker showing that he hasn’t lost his touch. Harshal Patel’s form has put India in a jeopardy. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be back for the final game. Spinner Axar Patel has been phenomenal in this series.

The leading wicket-taker in the ongoing T20I series, Axar Patel has 5 wickets in the 2 games at an average of 6 and an economy of 5. Deepak Chahar may get a game in place of out-of-form Harshal Patel who is wicketless this series besides conceding runs at an economy rate of 13.5.

India Predicted Playing XI:- Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah.

It wasn’t a bad game for Australia. Scoring 90 runs in 8 overs was a big plus for them. Aaron Finch and Cameron Green will open once again. Aaron Finch has 53 runs in this series at a strike rate of 189.29.

Cameron Green was unlucky with the runout, but his 61 runs in the first T20 at a strike rate of more than 200 should be enough for Australia to get a fiery start. Glenn Maxwell has been abysmal in this series. One run in the first game followed by a duck in the second exposed that the leading run-scorer of Australia’s last T20I series in India is struggling to play.

Tim David failed to prove himself once again. He scored just two runs. His inclusion in the 2022 T20I World Cup squad is now facing a lot of questions. India doesn’t have a solution for Matthew Wade. Matthew Wade scored 43 off 20 balls in the second T20I. He is the leading run-scorer of the series with 88 runs at a strike rate of 214.63 and has yet to be dismissed. Josh Inglis will be back in the squad for the 3rd T20I replacing Daniel Sams.

Adam Zampa mesmerized with his bowling once again. The leg spinner took 3 wickets for 16 runs in his 2 overs. His wickets included KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav. Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Nathan Ellis will lead the pace attack. Nathan Ellis and Josh Inglish will probably replace Sean Abbott and Daniel Sams in the 3rd T20I.

Australia Predicted Playing XI:- Aaron Finch, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, Tim David, Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa, Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood.
