According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, young pacer Avesh Khan has a viral fever and he hasn’t come out of the hotel room for two days. A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official told Dainik Bhaskar that the pacer doesn’t appear to be in playing condition and the medical team is working with him.

Also, the same report suggests that the right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar, who is one of the stand-by players, could be called up to the main squad if Avesh is not fully fit to compete.

Talking further about Avesh, the Madhya Pradesh speedster has failed to impress with the bowl in the Asia Cup. In the match against Pakistan, he bowled 2 overs, conceded 19 runs and picked up the wicket of Fakhar Zaman. In India’s second game against Hong Kong, the pacer was very expensive as he gave away 53 runs in his 4-over quota.

Overall, Avesh has played 15 T20Is for India National Cricket Team and has bagged 13 wickets at an average of 32.46, an economy of 9.10 and a strike rate of 21.3.
