Broke Barcelona sell club’s TV studios for £85million as they look to fund transfer bid for Man City star Bernardo Silva
BARCELONA president Joan Laporta has left the door open for a move for Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva later this month.
The Catalan giants have managed to navigate crippling financial problems to make some new signings for coach Xavi this summer.
They have previously earned some more leeway by selling a portion of their future TV rights.
Now Barcelona have sold 25 per cent of their Barca studios to Socios.com for £85million to help register new signings.
Silva is Xavi’s dream signing and would be interested in a move back to Spain although whether City could be persuaded to sell is another matter.
Asked directly about the Portugal international, Laporta said: “First we have to register the players we have so far signed.
“And then we will see what can be done if the coach asks for more players.
“It’s a long summer. The market doesn’t finish until August 31.
“We have to register the new signings and hopefully we can do that before the season starts.
“Then we will see what happens. It could be that there is another signing.”

Any move would still hinge on Barcelona finding a buyer for Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong.
Bernardo asked to leave City last summer to move nearer to his homeland.
While he is more settled now a switch to the Nou Camp that may tempt him.
City are likely to want more than £80million to consider selling the former Monaco man though.
