Dwayne Bravo Sets A Record By Being The First Bowler In Cricket History To Claim 600 T20 Wickets
Dwayne Bravo, an all-around player for the Northern Superchargers, has taken 600 wickets, making him the first player in T20 cricket history. On August 11, when competing against the Oval Invincibles in the Men’s Hundred 2022, he pulled off the historic achievement.
Bravo had 598 wickets in the game’s shortest format going into the matchup against Oval. Against the Oval Invincibles, he bowled all 20 of his allotted overs and finished with statistics of 2/29.
Sam Curran became Bravo’s 600th wicket in T20 games, and Rilee Rossouw marked his 599th. Rossouw was caught by Bravo in front of his stumps while Curran was sent out by the seasoned Caribbean bouncer.
Bravo cast a powerful spell, but the Northern Super Chargers were unable to overcome the Oval Invincibles today. Sam Curran’s 60 from 39 balls gave Oval a three-wicket victory.
The Oval Invincibles won the toss and decided to field first earlier in the day. The Northern Superchargers finished with 157 runs scored in their 100 balls thanks to an opening batsman’s 33-ball 79. For the Invincibles, Sunil Narine bowled an outstanding spell of 3/11.
Sam Curran’s heroism overshadowed Dwayne Bravo’s major achievement:
Sam Curran and Jordan Cox’s 67-run partnership helped Oval, which was chasing 158 for victory, get back into the game after falling to 21/3. Curran took the attacking stance and scored 60 runs off just 39 pitches. He hit two fours and five sixes in his knock.
Tom Curran’s outstanding seven-ball 18* kept the Northern Superchargers from winning despite their swift succession of three wickets during the closing overs. Sam’s game-winning hit earned him the Man of the Match honour.
