Grimsby vs Carlisle ABANDONED mid-match after huge downpour leaves standing water on pitch making it unplayable

GRIMSBY’S clash with Carlisle has been abandoned DURING the game following a massive downpour of rain.

The two teams were well into the first half at Blundell Park when the treacherous conditions forced them to postpone the League Two match.

The horrid weather led to the match being postponed during the first half

A statement from Grimsby read: “The match officials have brought an end to proceedings this evening, as the fixture has been ABANDONED.

“Further information relating to tickets, Mariners TV passes and a rearranged date will be published once confirmed.

“Please retain your tickets!”

And Carlisle also released a short statement on social media letting their fans know the game had been postponed.
