Senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami amazed everyone with his impressive comeback with the ball in the ODI cricket. The 32-year-old veteran pacer won the ‘player of the match award for his brilliant spell in the second of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Shami scalped 3 wickets by conceding only 18 runs in 6 overs with an outstanding economy rate of 3.00 including one maiden over to his name.

Meanwhile, the young Indian pace and J&K pace bowling sensation Umran Malik has named Mohammed Shami as his favorite bowler. The 23-year-old said this during the post-match interview with Shami, the video of this interview was posted by the Indian Cricket Board on their official Twitter handle.

Although this praising statement for Shami from Umran Malik didn’t go down well with a section of the Indian cricket fans. They immediately took to Twitter to recall the poor performances of Shami in the ODI cricket of late before the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Subsequently, the fans also advised Umran to learn a bit of line and length from Mohammed Shami.

Apart from this, Mohammed Shami also lavished the praise on Umran for the latter’s raw pace and his excellence with the ball.

“You have a lot of spirits. Your future is bright, my best wishes to you. But I do have some advice for you, you have a lot of paces and it’s not easy playing it. Just focus on your line and length a bit more, and when you get that in control, you can be on top of the world,” said Shami during the post-match interview with the J&K pacer.

Later on, the Amroha-born veteran also came up with some tips and tricks for the young lad while bowling at the highest level of the game.

“You should keep in mind that you should keep trusting your skills, you may tend to get carried away when under pressure. But, when you keep your cool and keep trusting your skills, you have a better opportunity to execute your plans. When you are doing well, then the importance of focussing is more,” Shami added later.
