‘Har ek run selectors ke mooh par tamacha’ – Fans react as Prithvi Shaw smashes a record-breaking triple century in Ranji Trophy

The young Indian batter Prithvi Shaw has attracted the headlines of social media once again with an outstanding knock in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match against Assam. The 23-year-old smashed the century on the second day of this Elite Group B match at the Amingaon Cricket Ground in Assam.

Shaw played a record-breaking knock of 379 runs off 383 balls with 49 boundaries and four sixes to his name. As per the latest updates, Mumbai had scored 598 runs for the loss of three wickets in 125.1 overs.

A section of the Indian cricket fans is also overwhelmed with this amazing performance from the 23-year-old young Mumbai batter. They took to Twitter to question the ignorant attitude of the national team’s selectors in Prithvi Shaw’s case.

Here’s how fans reacted to Prithvi Shaw’s triple century:

Notably, Shaw had been in the headlines due to his cryptic posts after not being selected in the Indian squad for a couple of home and away assignments. He played his last international match in the Indian colors against Sri Lanka in the Colombo T20I  back in the year 2021.

Speaking of his international career, the Thane-born batter has played five Tests, six ODIs, and a T20I so far for the national side of India. In these appearances, he has scored 339 Test runs (42.37 average), and 189 ODI runs (31.50 average) respectively.

Currently, the Indian team is in action against Sri Lanka in the ongoing three-match ODI series. The men in blue have won the first match by a margin of 67 runs and have taken a lead of 1-0 in the series.

Following the conclusion of this assignment against Sri Lanka, India will play against New Zealand in the three-match T20I series followed by an ODI series of the same number of matches.
