Women’s cricket makes its first entry into the Commonwealth Games 2022 to be held in Birmingham in the UK. Cricket as a game has returned into the commonwealth fold after 24 years. It is a matter of great pride for cricket as a game and the various cricketers to be playing at such a big global stage. 

It is an even bigger event in the lives of the Indian women cricketers who will be representing the country. Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading the Indian contingent against the likes of Australia, Pakistan and Barbados in the group stage in group A. Group B has New Zealand, South Africa, England and Sri Lanka playing against each other.

India will take on Australia (July 29), Pakistan (July 31) and Barbados (August 3). All the matches will be played in Edgbaston in Birmingham. The stage is set for the new generation of Indian women cricketers to script history in the absence of their veterans Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami. 

“Winning all the games is something very important when you are playing a tournament like this. But, the first game is always important because you have to set the tone. The other two teams (Pakistan and Barbados) are important as well, so we have made plans for them. We are taking one game at a time, and right now our full focus is on the first game” Kaur said ahead of India’s clash against Australia.

Indians fans will be able to watch this tournament in English commentary on Sony TEN 1, Sony TEN 2, Sony TEN 4 and Sony SIX. Fans, who prefer to watch matches in Hindi commentary, will have to switch to Sony TEN 3. The matches will be also televised live on DD Sports.

In the Caribbean

In the Caribbean islands (West Indies), SportsMax will present the live telecast of the cricket matches in Commonwealth Games 2022. Flow Sports will present the live streaming of the matches.

In Australia, Fox Sports and Channel 7 will present the live telecast of the matches between India Women and Australia Women
