‘International mein kya Ho jata hai isko’ – Fans burst in anger as Jasprit Bumrah reported to be ruled out from ODI series against NZ and two Tests against Australia

In what it seems to be most disappointing for the Indian fans, the pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the entire ODI series against Sri Lanka. Notably, the men in blue are set to lock horns with the Islanders in the first of the three-match ODI series at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati today, the 10th of January.

Coming back to Bumrah’s injury and his availability for the national team, it looks like a rest from the ODI series would not be enough for him to be completely available for the full-fledged four-match Test series against Australia.

“Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Bumrah, who was set to join the team in Guwahati ahead of the ODI series, will need some more time to build bowling resilience. This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure,” read the media advisory released by the Indian Cricket Board on the 28-year-old’s omission from the ODI squad of India.

Subsequently, the media reports and closed sources in the Indian Cricket Board have learned that Bumrah might miss the entire white-ball assignment against New Zealand followed by an absence in the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.

Here’s a look at the latest report on Jasprti Bumrah’s injury

“After clearing those tests at the NCA last week, Bumrah had fresh bowling tests in Mumbai under the supervision of Nitin Patel, the head of NCA’s sports science wing and the final authority on a player’s fitness clearance. It was after those tests, combined with the scan results, that it was determined Bumrah would need more rehab time,” read the recent report on Ahmdebada Pacer’s availability for team India in near future.

Although this development regarding the star pacer’s injury his availability didn’t go down well with a lot of Indian fans and they came up with some furious reactions on the same. Fans took to Twitter to release their angst over the continuous unavailability of Bumrah for national duty.

Apart from this, skipper Rohit Sharma also said the management will minutely care of Jasprit Bumrah just because of the quality he brings when required.

“It’s an unfortunate incident with him [Bumrah]. The poor guy had been working very hard at the NCA all this time. Just when he got back to full fitness, he started bowling and everything, the last two days I think this incident happened where he felt a little bit of stiffness in his back. It’s nothing major, it’s just stiffness. [But] when Bumrah says anything we have to be very cautious about it. I thought it was important for us to make that decision then, to just pull him out. When we named him [in the squad], he was in the process of getting his workload done. We need to be very careful with him. He had a major injury before the [T20] World Cup. So we just need to be careful,” said skipper Sharma during the pre-match press conference ahead of the series opener against Sri Lanka.
