Sarr has impressed for the Hornets during his three years with the club, making over 90 appearances since signing from Rennes for £27m.
Watford’s relegation from the Premier League last season made it highly likely Sarr would leave the club to stay in the top flight.
And he’s going about it the right way by keeping himself in the headlines with a sensational goal from inside his own half in the matchday two draw at West Brom.
United’s need for attacking reinforcements and Sarr’s wondergoal has meant he has forced his way into Ten Hag’s thoughts.
The failed approached for Marko Arnautovic has put further pressure on the United hierarchy to make the right signing to help the squad.
Cristiano Ronaldo wants to quit Old Trafford, while Anthony Martial is out injured, leaving the attacking options few and far between.
West Ham were being touted as the club most likely to secure the signature of the Senegal international but are now out to 11/1.
The Hammers are understood to be in the process of offloading forward players Said Benrahma and Nikola Vlasic, which could free up funds, wages and a position for Sarr.
Leeds were joint favourites with West Ham to land Sarr this summer having already added Luis Sinisterra to their ranks this summer but are now 9/1.
Eddie Howe’s Magpies are looking to build on their very positive second half of last season, achieving an 11th place finish after a very slow start to the season.
Newcastle – now 12/1 to sign Sarr with Sky Bet – have already splashed the cash this summer in a bid to challenge for the European spots next season and started the season positively with a good home win against Nottingham Forest.
Frank Lampard’s Everton have also been linked with a move for the winger.
Ismaila Sarr next club odds
The Toffees will be hoping last season’s disappointing campaign was just a blip and they just went down 1-0 to Chelsea in the league opener.
Crystal Palace are another side who are in the running to sign Sarr.
Patrick Vieira enjoyed a positive first season in charge at Selhurst Park, and will be looking to improve his young squad for next season, having finished 12th last time out.
The Eagles are a bit short in the winger department, with Wilfried Zaha out of contract next summer, leaving just Michael Olise as a specialist wide man at the club, as Jeffrey Schlupp’s contract also expires at the end of the month.
Everton are 14/1, with Palace and Leicester 16/1 and Liverpool bigger still at 20/1.
