Sydney Thunders have recorded the most horrible record to their name in the history of the Big Bash League. Notably, Sydney locked horns with the Adelaide Strikers in the fifth match of the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League 2022. Adelaide skipper and former Aussie pacer Peter Siddle won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first.
Batting first, Adelaide posted a total of 139 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While chasing the target, Sydney unexpectedly lost all the wickets only on the double-digit score of 15 runs in 5.5 overs. Five batters of Sydney went back to the pavilion with a score of 0 without opening their account.
This unfortunate display of batting from the hosts ignited a lot of reactions and memes on the social media platform Twitter.
Here’s how fans reacted to the horrific inning of Sydney:

Speaking of the entire action of the match, number three batter and Aussie all-rounder Chris Lynn played a crucial knock of 36 runs. Following his knock, Colin de Grandhomme also contributed with 33 runs to help Adelaide reach a total of 139 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
While defending the total of 139 runs, the bowling duo of Henry Thornton and Wes Agar ran riot on the field and bundled up the entire batting lineup of Sydney with only the score of 15 runs which ended up as the lowest score in either of the franchise T20 cricket leagues.
Thornton scalped five wickets conceding only 3 runs in 2.5 overs with one maiden to his name and an outstanding economy rate of 1.05. Whereas, Agar ended up picking up four wickets conceding only six runs in two overs.
