Matt Chapman: Kevin Blake being hopeless and Jamie Osborne crying in defeat – I can’t wait for the Racing League
[ad_1]
THE Racing League starts Thursday – and I’m ready!
You may not be, because you may have already decided it’s not for you. That’s fine.

There are nearly 1500 fixtures a year and somewhere near 13,000 races. Not every one of them is going to be everyone’s cup of tea.
Rather than moan, which of course is the way social media has turned the world, why not just give it a try?
I, for one, intend to have great fun with the Racing League fixtures.
Racing League exclusive ticket offer
THE Racing League has teamed up with Sun Racing to bring you a brilliant ticket offer this summer.
For just £9.50 two adults and up to six children (under 18s) can go to ANY Racing League meeting – click HERE to claim.
To get the brilliant offer click through to the Racing League page HERE.
Then all you have to do it pick the Racing League racecourse you want to go to, select the fixture, click ‘book now’ and select ‘The Sun Offer Family Package’.
Terms and conditions apply.
And I also have a little control over whether you enjoy it or not!
For a start, I’ll be presenting the ITV coverage from Doncaster this Thursday, and I’m also captain of the London/South team.
In these situations there will always be cynics that simply say, ‘well, of course you were going to plug it Chappers’.

But I actually think Racing League will be six nights of TV racing fun. And the regional team aspect can work.
Racing is presented in a certain way for the main events, and that is quite right.
For Group 1 days and Classic action you need gravitas.
But what I hope will happen in the Racing League is that we will be able to show you another side to the jockeys, trainers and owners who basically provide us with all the fun of this great game.
Behind the seriousness of most of those people on big race days, there are normal people with a sense of humour and stories to tell.
I’ll be hoping that on ITV we get that out of them, and believe you lot sat at home – or coming to the tracks courtesy of Sun Racing’s awesome £9.50 family ticket offer – will enjoy some cracking TV.
As captain of the London/South team I not only decide which jockeys ride which of my horses, but also which of the horses actually run.
When you are dealing with a lot of trainers, that’s been a full-on job.
I honestly can’t say anyone has been difficult, but equally it still takes quite a bit of organisation and I have had a fight over riders!
The former has been even more so at Doncaster where one day the forecast has promised rain, and the next sunshine.
As you will be aware, trainers hate mixed forecasts.
One thing worth noting is that Danny Muscutt has been made favourite to be top jockey.
You might like to know that he is banned on Thursday. It’s worth bearing in mind if you fancy taking a punt on another rider.
If you want to come to Doncaster tickets are not massively expensive – and don’t forget to take advantage of that brilliant £9.50 offer – even though I appreciate every penny counts for everyone at the moment. I hope to see you there.
Give it a go. Have some fun.
And if nothing else watch Kevin Blake be hopeless and Jamie Osborne crying in defeat.
