Pope appeals to Putin to end ‘spiral of violence’ in Ukraine

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis on Sunday appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop “this spiral of violence and death,” and decried the risk of a nuclear war.
