Rohit Sharma makes Suryakumar Yadav’s presence felt: Watch

Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, failed to make it count in the first ODI against Bangladesh played at Sher-e-Bangla stadium on December 4, Sunday as it was the Bangla Tigers, who won the match with just 1 wicket to spare. While there were many moments to take away from the game, there was one moment that caught the eye of the fans.

Suryakumar Yadav, the middle-order batter who is enjoying a prolific run, is not a part of the Indian setup for the Bangladesh tour and the player’s presence was eventually felt during the game. While one could expect it to be a banner from one of the fans in the crowd, the actual reason was the Indian skipper batting with his ‘CEAT’ bat, with ‘SK Yadav’ written underneath.

The fans, who witnessed the same, were taken aback and could not relate as Suryakumar uses an ‘SS’ bat. Although it was not visible at first, eventually, it was visible when the Indian skipper tried to take guard earlier in the game.

I was very nervous sitting in the dressing room: Litton Das

To comment on the match, India were forced to bat first and the Men in Blue could only manage to amass 186 runs on the board at the end of the first innings, courtesy of KL Rahul’s 73. While Bangladesh were restricted to 136/9 during their chase, Mehidy Hasan’s unbeaten 38 helped the Bangla Tigers chase down the total with just 1 wicket to spare.

Das, who opened up on the win, said that he was nervous during the 10th wicket partnership and claimed that it would go down as one of the biggest wins for the Bangla Tigers. Further, Das hoped to carry on with the form and clinch the series, given that the teams have two matches to play in the contest.

“Very happy. I was very nervous sitting in the dressing room. I enjoyed Mehidy’s batting in the last 6-7 overs. Siraj and Shardul bowled very well in the middle overs and shifted the momentum towards their side. When me and Shakib were batting we thought we could chase this easily, but it got difficult after we both got out and India bowled really well. Outstanding innings from Mehidy,” Das was quoted as saying after the match.
