‘Tu to dev-manus nikla re…’ – Fans hail Rohit Sharma as he comes to bat on number nine with injured thumb


Indian skipper Rohit Sharma caught the eyeballs of the cricket fans during today’s ongoing match against Bangladesh. It all happened when he injured his left thumb while attempting a catch off Anamul Haque while standing in the second slip. Following this injury, the medical team took him to hospital for the further scans and check-ups.

Subsequently, the 35-year-old couldn’t become a part of the entire Bangladesh innings and vice-captain KL Rahul led India in Rohit’s absence. Everybody was worried about Rohit Sharma and whether he would come to the field again or not,

But the skipper shocked everyone when he came to bat at number eight with an injured thumb. Rohit came into the middle following the dismissal of Shardul Thakur on the first ball of the 46th over.

The cricket fans also went in full awe of the Indian skipper and they heaped praises on his dedication and perseverance for the team.

Talking about the action of the match, the prolific Bangla all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz impressed and stunned everyone with another consecutive amazing performance to help his team reach a decent total of 271 runs for the loss of six wickets. Other than him, senior all-rounder Mahmudullah also scored 77 runs off 96 balls with seven boundaries to his name. Other than him, Axar Patel also scored 56 runs off 56 balls with two boundaries and three sixes to his name.

Washington Sundar ended up as the highest wicket-taker for the Indian team as he scalped three wickets. Alongside Washy, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik also scalped two wickets each.

While chasing the target, India scored 252 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 49 overs. At the time of filling this copy, skipper Rohit Sharma is there in the middle on the individual score of 41 runs off 24 balls with one boundary and four sixes so far to his name.
