Watch footie star smash ball into fan’s face and leave kids in tears before being sent off in shocking scenes
NEW YORK RED BULLS star Dru Yearwood was sent off after SMASHING the ball into his own fan’s face.
The Englishman, 22, grew frustrated with the game deep into added time against Philadelphia with Red Bulls trailing 2-0.
As the referee awarded a late free-kick, the midfielder leathered the ball towards the nearby stand where supporters of his team were sat.
The ball struck a fan and left a kid in tears.
Yearwood climbed into the stand to apologise but one Red Bulls fan stood in his way, threw his scarf towards the player and ushered him back to the pitch.
The ex-Southend and Brentford ace was shown his marching orders not long after.
Yearwood was also met with “a**hole” chants by his own supporters.
On the incident, one fan tweeted on the MLS ace: “I feel bad for all of them.
“That just sucks. Yearwood looks remorseful, I hope he can make it up somehow.”
Another said: “Should be a multi game suspension and a fine.”

“My emotions got the best of me on this day, and I’ve let down the entire organisation and every single New York Red Bulls fan.
“I hope the fans are OK and that they can forgive me.”
Red Bulls said: “The safety of everyone that attends our events at Red Bull Arena is of utmost importance to our organisation.
“Dru is incredibly remorseful and knows his actions were inexcusable.
“We will take measures to discourage this from occurring again.
“We, along with Dru, will continue to stay in contact with the families to check on their well-being.”
