WATCH: Mayanti Langer takes a jibe at Sanjay Manjrekar in the live show by mentioning Ravindra Jadeja in conversation

Former Indian batter and now commentator Sanjay Manjrekar shares an interesting history with senior Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. It’s since the time when he once called Jadeja a “bits and pieces cricketer”. Talking of that comment from Manjrekar, then Jadeja later came up with a social media post targeting the former for his remarks.

Other than that, there have been times Manjrekar ends up being on the receiving end of jokes and memes whenever Jadeja performs magnificently in international cricket. Recently, the two have gone viral after the match of Asia Cup 2022 between India and Pakistan when Jadeja played an amazing knock of 35 runs off 29 balls with two boundaries and two sixes.

During the post-match talk, Manjrekar started the conversation with a question if Jadeja is ‘ok’ to talk with him. The 33-year-old also laughed in reply and replied that he had no issue.

Following that, Manjrekar’s fellow broadcaster at Star Sports, Mayanti Langer also went on to take a dig at him by mentioning the name of Jadeja in a conversation.

Actually, Manjrekar and Mayanti were in a conversation alongside former legendary New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris.

“We have seen that a lot of spinners don’t like to bowl in the death as it is. Even the great Rashid Khan isn’t a big fan of it. Now if you have one less fielder to protect, it means he has to change his entire strategy on the lines he has to bowl in particular. Teams try to protect one side of the boundary rather than have splits of two and two on the boundaries on either side. So those are the adjustments that have to be made and hence they have to get their spinners done a little earlier now,” said Styris while opining on this issue.

Just bowl your overs quicker – Sanjay Manjrekar

Manjrekar came up with a simple suggestion to deal with it and said:

“I have a very quick solution and a very simple tactic. Just bowl your overs quicker.”

It was the time when Mayanti Langer came into the conversation and replied to Manjrekar by recalling him the name of Ravindra Jadeja.

“Sanjay, not everyone is Ravindra Jadeja,” she said before breaking into laughter and adding “I had to do it,” said Mayanti and laughed at the very moment.

This comment from her left Manjrekar in shock and then he replied, “good one”.

Here’s the video of the conversation:
