The next generation of the Bangladesh Cricket team will be touting Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I and ODI series. All the matches will be played in Harare starting with the first T20I on Saturday, July 30.
Bangladesh will be without their senior cricketers Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah for the T20I series. The BCB said that the series will be a good one for the preparation of the side heading into the T20Is. The side will be led by young wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan who has started playing international cricket.
Hasan has been backed by Shakib to give his best in the series. The premier all-rounder said that it was a thoughtful decision keeping the future of the side in mind.
“I think the decision has its merit. Sohan( Nurul) thoroughly deserved this captaincy and BCB felt that he can give a lot to Bangladesh in the future, so they gave him the captaincy. I wish him all the best. The Zimbabwe series is challenging for him but I hope he can overcome that challenge,” Shakib said.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will be led by Craig Ervine. This side also has a few new names in between some experienced players like Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams. Tendai Chatara and Blessing Muzarabani have been ruled out with injuries from the white-ball series.
